Washington Elementary + Monocle
Monocle is excited to be working with George Washington Elementary for a 4-week pilot. Monocle will be engaging students in 4th and 5th grade, through an entrepreneurial curriculum. Students will learn about themselves, design thinking, pitching and interact with two entrepreneurs. They will work with one of these entrepreneurs to solve a relevant business problem and pitch them at the end.
An Exciting Start at Washington Elementary School
We wrapped up our first week at Washington Elementary School and it was a blast! 4th and 5th Grade students started the program, bringing great energy and an open mind. On day one students learned about what it means to be an entrepreneur, in addition to exploring their own leadership styles. Day two students focused on forming teams. They used the previous day's work to form an elevator pitch and put it to the test. By the end of day two students had formed their teams and came to some very important conclusions.
"You have to trust others." and "You can't always choose your friend, sometimes you have to do something different than them."
